Naked City: Tales of Urban Fantasy (Riverside Series) - Ellen Datlow, Caitlín R. Kiernan, Ellen Kushner, Pat Cadigan, Jeffrey Ford, Nathan Ballingrud, Elizabeth Bear, Kit Reed, Peter S. Beagle, Richard Bowes, Lavie Tidhar, Melissa Marr, Matthew Kressel, John Crowley, Lucius Shepard, Delia Sherman, Patricia Briggs, Holly Black, A very dissimilar collection of stories and not of all of them I will call 'Urban Fantasy', its fits more as DARK FANTASY. However the Editor (Datlow) saids there are from an spectrum of the theme involving a city, to me are 2 , specially, that didn’t belong: “The Duke of Riverside” (part of the Swordpoint universe – very and literally sword and cape - entertaining) and “The Bricks of Gelecek” (a fantasy desert tale, very good by the way).

Off course there are the authors to highlight as Jim Butcher, Patricia Briggs, and Peter S. Beagle.

A good surprise were the until unknown to me: Delia Sherman and Elizabeth Bear.

And the others explore dark and inclusive horror, which don't appeal to the majority of readers who love the first UF writers , including me. Some, just skip.
